DIY Overflow Box

I'm trying to make my own overflow box. I assume that some of you have done this and was wondering if you could walk me through some different ideas. I was going to use those hang on the side, plastic, boxes that they use at my LFS to transfer fish. Will this work? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Yes they will work for your setup, but you could make your own overflow box depending how handy you are
