DIY Stand Question

I have started building my stand for a 200 gallon aquarium and was wondering what the general opinion was on the top......Do I set the tank on the frame or do I put down a sheet of plywood? I am thinking of leaving the sheet off since the sides of the aquarium are all that actually make contact and thats were all the weight will be supported in my design, plus I would be able to inspect the underside of the aquarium if the need ever arrises.
So tell me your thoughts or opinions.
Thanks

I took a piece of 3/4 inch particle board and put it over the top. It makes any imperfections less of an imperfection when the tank sits on the top. I just sealed the top of the board with poly to prevent swelling.

Thanks for the input. I used a long level on my frame to make sure it was all plumb and a belt sander for the high spots. I did not get very much opinions so I stayed with my original plan without the top. Now on to making my 75 gallon sump........
