DIY sump guide

Hi everyone,
I was intending to do a reef tank out of a 40 breeder I picked up recently. I liked the idea of doing a DIY sump to increase the water volume, etc. Are there any good online guides on how to build a sump setup out of a standard glass tank that includes some detailed pictures? I've read thru http://melevsreef.com/ and to be honest that site confuses me a bit.
thanks for the help

Search around here a bit and you'll find some stuff... but frankly, Marc's site describes it about as best as I've ever seen it.

Yea I've been searching on here for hours now. All i'm really looking for is something that details how to build the sump from a basic glass tank. That site doesn't seem to have any decent pictures (it's mostly text which is great, but to see some actual photos of the process would be really helpful) and his sumps are acrylic and look a lot more complicated then a basic Intake>Refuge>Return which is what i'm looking to do.
Hell I'm probably overcomplicating or missing something but so far I haven't found any other good guides from my searching

Doing this is really simple.
All you need do is figure out how deep your sections are going to be, and the dimensions of your baffles. Then stick 'em in place with silicon on both sides. Silicon doesn't bond to plexiglass very well, but you really don't need 100% water tight seals, the tank will hold your water off the floor and the baffles will keep enough of the water back between sections.
Just get what you need cut at the Depot from Lucite and you're all set.
If I were you, I'd use two baffles. One to separate the intake from the fuge, then one from the fuge to the return.

You can buy cheap glass kits for aquariums on ----. Do a search for refugiums and there is a company that sells kits for diffeant size tanks for like 39 bucks. All glass is pre cut.
