DIY Tank/Stand

Hey fellow fish lovers.................
I love my SW fish and i love building things so i was thinking hell, y not fill the whole in my room and make a tank 48Lx24Wx24H (About 120G) 48Lx18Wx30H (About 112G) or 48Lx18Wx36H (About 135G) so y not build it myself?
I never worked acrylic b4 and i was wondering how hard is it to cut and shape and stuff like that. The stand is a much simpler task for me, pretty simple.
So has anyone been succesful making a tank? Should i have it custom made for me? Should i go ahead and try building it on my own? I was thinking acrylic to drill for sump/fuge would b easier.
Thanks............

you can actually use wood for the back and sides and acryclic for the viewing area. There is someone on this page that has a DIY wooden tank...it looks really good also.

there is a marine epoxy you can paint on. It will seal the wood. Bang used an EPDM liner to make his 900 gallon lagoon out of wood.
