Just check it for the first time dkH 12 and Calcium is 640. PH is 8.3, Nitrates around 20(had a spike and its dropping), Nitrite 0, Ammonia 0, salinity 1.026. Just want to know if everything is in line. Thanks.
To me it sounds like your alkalinity and calcium are not balanced. usually with calcium that high dkh should be somewhere aound 7. They work in conjunction with each other. For example my calcium reads 500 and my dkh is 8.4. usually higher calcium lower dkh. Sea levels are somewhere around 430 calcium and 9 dkh if I'm not mistaken.
What would be a good way to lower my calcium? I am using IO for my salt and RO/DI water. I have a 55gal and I change 5gal of water a week, minus the RO top off and that equals to 3 gals a week or so.
Test your PH also and see what it reads because it will probably be off. All three work in conjunction with each other and the most important thing is keeping them all stable. Post your PH level.
