Can someone summarize my readings and what course of action I must take:
dKH: 8-8.5
Ca: 520-540 ppm (I know this is high)

Like you said your calcium is rather high and your alk is not bad, I like to have mine a little higher.

Both are a bit high...especially the calcium. What are you using to suppliment alk & calcium? What brand of test kit are you using?

self edit: stupid me...that alk is a bit low. 48 years old and that was my first mistake ever!!!! Thats what a old man gets for letting his fingers wonder faster than his brain!!!! I see the threads below have been helpful so I'll confess to my error and just shut up now....:D

The dKH is actually low, as reefs should range from a dKH of 8.5 - 14.0. The test kit says never allow your dKH to drop below 6.0. I use Kent's liquid calcium and Seachem's Reef Builder for alk. Both of my test kits are made by Nutrafin.

If it were me I would cease adding the liquid calcium and continue dosing the reef builder ( half dose what you normally dose ) and continue monitoring the levels.
The calcium should drop, and the alk should rise.
Once you get the dKH up around 10, and the calcium back down into the 380-400 range - stop the reef builder and wait awhile to see how the tankwater responds before dosing anything again.
What do you have in your tank in way of corals & coralline algae and live rock ?
What is your normal pH range ? high / low ?

Amazingly my pH stays around 8.2. I have LR with the majority of it being green with some purple patches here and there. My corals consist of mainly softies and a LPS.
