Do actinics count???

Just wondering, Do actinics count towards the overall wattage for lighting systems? I've always been under the impression that they do but have read recently that they really just help your tank look more blue (and pleasing to the eye) than actually benefiting growth.
Thanks,

Thanks,
Lighting is just screwing me up lately, Going to make the switch to MH from PC and just trying to not make expensive mistakes in the process.

Please ignore my previous post. You're second response made it sound like you were ripping on my initial question but after re-reading it, it made perfect sense. Sorry...

No worries :)
I was just saying that there are a lot of people here with a lot of different lighting systems and you can get some good opinions on setups.

They have a huge peak at 420 NM. I would count them. I believe their light is very useful.

Is there such a thing as too much lighting bang? I have a 20gal and Im going to buy a jebo 48" PC and retrofit it into a hood that I am building. So in essense it will give me 220watt. Ive read in another post about how $hitty the jebo actinics were. So I will replace them (any suggestions on brand) I only have inverts in the tank righ now. I will be addind a mandarin soon.

I wouldn't bother replacing any bulbs until you get organisms that need the extra light. I'm not up on the latest PC bulbs but I'll bet someone has asked that question before here.
