I am interested in getting my first RO/DI unit. I want the Typhoon III but I am concerened about Silicates in the water. Will this unit get rid of them? I noticed another unit that has what they call 'The SilicaBlaster' so I did not know if their unit specially had that or they just advertise it more and the Typhoon actually does the same thing

some work better than others. At a glance that looks like a nice system.
If your really worried about silicates, also consider a cheap GFO reactor from bulk reef supply, or DIY your own out of some PVC pipes. Granular Fericc Oxide is pricey, but works really well at making the water pristine.
If I had to pick just one...the RO-DI system. You cant go wrong with it.

Silicates are removed at the DeIonization (DI) stage of your filtration unit, they tend to get past the RO membrane. If you maintain your DI stage, by never allowing all the DI to expire (you'll notice a rise in TDS from 0-1 to 3-4), you shouldn't have to worry about silicates in your tank, at least from your water. Other sources of entry, are definitely possible.

Most RO membranes will remove 70% of Silicates. i believe the HI-S membranes can remove 90%.
DI rosin will remove 99% of whats left over from the RO.
