Do babies go to heaven?

by default? supposedly you can only get into heaven if you accept jesus as your savior, but what about babies and kids that are too young to even understand that stuff? if they do, how do they get around the whole accepting jesus thing?

We aren't God, how are we supposed to know who he allows into heaven? I'm sure we would like to think babies go to heaven, but nowhere in the bible does it assure they do.

You are correct. I should have said it is my personnel belief that it's not dependent on the parents beliefs. It's ok to question, even the disciples questioned.

Of course, nothing wrong with that or discussing it. I was just stating my belief is that I dont know and wont know until I die. However, I would like to think God's mercy would allow these innocents into heaven. Maybe their souls are born again and allowed another chance at life.

i believe that babies and those that do not know about the right and wrong are innocent and that God shows them mercy...I was thinking it talked about something like this in the Bible, but i'd have to check it out..i could be thinking of something else

Matthew 19:14
"Jesus said, 'suffer the little children to come unto me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.'"
Mark 10:16
"and He took them in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them."
Matthew 18:3
"And He said, 'I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of Heaven'."

so if one is oblivious to religion and heaven then one is accepted regardless???

Yes, babies and children, up until the age of recognition, go to heaven. When they are old enough to CHOOSE to sin or not is when the path splits. A baby or young child cannot choose their religion, beliefs, or be aware of the consequences of their actions. I hope that that makes sense to you.

so could i consider myself a child... i go to toys R us and other toy stores... play games/sports... play video games... play outside... eat jello... love fruit snacks... love naps... sometimes speak without thinking first... dont fully understand what is going on around me... respect my elders... go in the big boy potty... try to learn something new daily... laugh out loud uncontrolably... eat PB & Js... and as long as i am not breaking the law/rules set forth by the powers that be everything is good right...

Yes babies do go to heaven, they are not able to realize right from wrong, and are innocent as one poster said earlier.
Also, People keep themselves from going to heaven by the way that they live. He intends for everyone to live a good life, and love eachother, and love him.
Of course none of us are God, and capable of deciding who is going to heaven. Thats why he is up there making the decisions and were not.
(thanks goodness!!!)
