We got a couple baby clown fish 5 days ago. They don't seem to sleep like fish normally do. They just swim along the top of the tank all night long. Is this normal for clowns?
During the day they are very active and eat well.
I thought most all fishes found them a little hiding spot and slept during the night.

I had a percula that would just swim up and down the glass. Every once in a while he would rest at the bottom when the light was off. If you put an anenome or some hairy mushrooms in the tank it will give them a place to stay. Thats what I did and the clown fish did great for many years.

My clown is weird. I think it does sleep. When the light goes off, it goes and stays between my heater or filter tube and the glass. Does anyone else have a clown that does this?

I have a Clarki, he hides in a corner at night, but coudn't tell you if he is sleeping, everytime he sees any kind of movement, he's up and running.

There are many fish that don't appear to sleep as we would relate to it...in fact you would see some of them swimming in schools in the wild in the middle of the day, even when asleep. Their brain works a bit differently. So yes, they sleep but may not find a place in the rocks and stay there overnight.
