Do green shrooms move themselves? Mine isn't!!

I have some new polyps trying to grow right next to a green shroom. The shroom is starting to cover the polyps, but I want them to grow. I moved the rock over so shroom isn't getting much light. I was hoping he was gonna move but no luck yet. IS it going to move? What should I do? TIA

I have had several that have just popped off the rock. The mushrooms that do this are rather large so I just attach them to a new spot in the tank.

Yeah, they do move according to light there professor. But they don't move like shrimp, fish, snails, or whatever. It takes a goodly amount of time for them to "crawl" towards the better light. The shroom's head may tilt towards the better light, but its base doesn't start trailing immediately I dont think. In a newer tank, or one that has not really had a chance to establish, LIKE YOURS :D , it may take much longer. Keep in mind, corals don't propegate in poor water quality. Not that you have poor water, they just don't grow as well. Sammy explained to me that corals are hardier than people give them credit for, but to truly thrive, they need ideal conditions.

i agree with hair, just give them soem time....they arent gonna move in a day or week, but probably a couple of weeks. just slow down and take your time...if the shroom is close to some polyps, its probably even better in the long run, cause it may get a bit stung, and then be more encouraged to move!
good luck

yeah, i positioned the rock that way about 3 weeks ago. And I am seeing propegation with the polyps and the little red shrooms, and my params are fine. I'll try moving it over a little more out of the light, see what happens. thanx yall!!
