Do GSP's sting leathers ?

My GSP are getting out of control and are beginning to touch most of my corals. I have noticed that my devil hand leather is really pi$$ed off about this invasion of space. It seems to have a couple of finger tips that look like they have been stung. All shriveled up and deathly looking. Anyone out there experience this?

GSP will sting leathers that come in contact with it. I would try and move the leather away from it or cut the GSP back.

Just curious, how do you go about trimming the GSP? I have a feeling we're going to be in the same situation in (hopefully) a few months.

you can try peeling the mat off of the rock. it is a bit difficult. im guessing the stuff spreads by detaching from the mother colony nd landing in other spots in the ocean.

you scrape or pull it from the rock. It can be quite difficult, that is why my GSP isn't around my main rocks so that I can contol it. I just let it grow and right before it starts to touch a rock I frag it.

I have tried to peel it back without success. can't get under it. this sounds cruel, but I solved it by taking a frag and scrapping it across the mat, basically shredding it. I can't move the leather due to ideal placement.....I have so much of this stuff I am running out of rocks to frag it with!
