Do Horseshoe crabs molt??

Behind some of my LR there is either a horseshoe molt or my little crab is dead. It is just sitting there right side up but, I can't tell if it is a dead crab. Do they molt? I sure hope so because I am going to have one helluva time getting it out if not.

Whew! Hopefully just a molt. I will keep an eye on my parameters and see if anything changes.

Speak of the devil. Guess who just showed up.......alive. WooHoo! Live Crabs are way better than dead ones.............depending on whether they are in your tank or on your body.

Yes, they molt, but not as regularly as other invertebrates. An interesting thing about them...every time they molt they are 125% of their previous size. Save the old shell, it makes a great ashtray
