WOW nat, doing some Aiptasia farming there.
This stuff got out of control in a hurry, I moved my tank about a 100 miles and within 2 months I went from about half dozen aiptasia to something close to whats in the pic, and at the time I couldn't find anything in my area to kill it. I tried lemon juice and boiling water and neither were very effective it would kill a few of them but not enough to make a dent. So before it was all said and done the population probably doubled or tripled from what you see in that pic.

Dang nat how many 55 gallon drums of joes juice did it take to get rid of them all. lol
I think I used a total of 10 bottles of Joes juice over 3 or 4 months. For the first couple of months I would use an entire bottle in one treatment and I would treat them once a week. After the ten bottles I figured out how to make my own from Mrs wages pickling lime and boiling saltwater and I think I have used about another 16 ounces of that solution. I still have to treat them about once a month because there are several that are inside the rockwork that I can't reach and they keep breeding.

DO I HEAR A REPRIEVE OR A STAY OF EXECUTION IN AlIX'S POST!?!?!?!?!?
I mean, if it were UNANIMOUS then I would simply have to adhere to the voice of the masses but it's no longer unanimous..... wouldn't it be unAmerican of me to "euthanize" it now? (not sure that word works, either. To euthanize is to put something out of its misery and this anemone looks truly happy).
And wouldn't I see a bunch of other's popping up by now if it were going to reproduce out of control? I have peppermint shrimp in there - perhaps they are taking care of any offspring, but this sucker is way too big - I think it would easily eat a shrimp!
Sue
From my experience I would say that I am 99.999% sure that is an aiptasia anemone so I would not hesitate to dispatch the pest.
