i have a 55 gal reef tank that i bought already made up with a hood and lights. its got 2 new 50/50 bulbs 6000k and 2 straight blue bulbs. for coral and inverts should i replace the blown out 10000k halogen or do i have enough light?

I assume you mean halide, not halogen.
I'd replace it. Usually fixtures with halide lamps in them only use the fluorescent lamps as supplemental light, not the main light. You didn't go into any details of wattages or what types of corals you have, but more than likely, you need the halide.

not sure on the details of wattages, its my husbands tank. we actually dont have any corals in there right now but we plan to. its just live rock live sand and a few fish right now but he wants it all set up for coral so we can start.
