Hi everyone. I know I should use ro/di water..BUT do I need both or just the one?
I know they sell both together but I wondered what the difference was. I am going to be connecting it to my washing machine line as to be able to use the waste water for doing wash instead.
Any advise is greatly appreciated

DI would be fine but if your tap water isn't really clean it might be expensive. The beads in a DI will usually saturate very quickly using straight tapwater. The RO is used to remove 95-97% of the contaminants to save the DI beads. Think of the RO as the DI prefilter.

Ok, sounds like both is the better solution. Any recommendations?
I looked some up in that auction site and saw some as low as $90..
Do I need to get reef...or just any ro/di machine?
thanks much!!

They're all about the same. Make sure the RO has a sediment prefilter filter and a carbon filter at minumum. If you're getting a 100GPD or bigger doublecheck the RO membrane. Most of the faster membranes only filter about 90%. The 75gpd and lower usually filter a lot better. I use a Hi-S RO membrane that filters out more Silicate and Phosphate but the filters are slower.
