Do i need the hang-on flter?

In my 38 gallon tank whick im getting friday(They FINALLY got it in after 6 weeks waiting on it!!!) i'll be having ~25 of live rock and 20 pounds of base rock. For sand ive got 60 pounds of caribsea argonite. Will the live rock be enough for filtration or should I put the hang-on filter on the back as well?

Get about 10 more pounds of LR and it should be enough. Don't worry about the hang on filter you really do not need it.

I added a hang on to go with my skimmer. I found that it really took the load off the skimmer as far as refuse is concerned. It also cleaned off the film at the top of the tank. I'm new so you can probably take or leave my advice. Someone with more experience may give you better advice
