1000% yes. Research this. Anemones are hard to keep and require INTENSE light and 95% of them die within the first year of captivity.

Rickross not sure about "your facts" which I find so very hard to believe and would love to see some actually data/research to support your survival rate. As far as 400W MH's totally not accurate information!!!!

Hi,
5 clowns??? in a small tank....risky. LEDs are expensive but they will work 150w metal Halides will as well, T5HO would need at least 8 bulbs to keep an anemone going. Power compacts .won't do, nor will regular fish lights. Tube anemones do not require lights at all (no clown will host with a tube anemone)....cover all power heads reguardless.

For your size tank, I'd look into a 150 watt halide, nothing stronger or you'll have heating issues, or a good 4 bulb T5 fixture. There are some good LED fixtures as well, but you need to really research which work and which don't. There are some real garbage units out there.

I'm asking you......You stated "intense light and 95% of them die...." I'm asking where your drawing that info from.....I'd like a link......
I can believe that statistic for new hobbiests. Not for a hobby statistic though.
I can agree with that Bang, but the statement is used so vaguely and doesn't mean much!!!!!

Can you agree that the odds are against the new hobbiest right off the bat and that adding an Anemone makes it even worse?

That I do agree......My questioning was 95% mortality rate......That statement in itself is basically saying "NO".......I guess what I'm saying is if your going to use figures expand a bit on the reasoning.......
