I was just reading sum info and i was wondering if i have to have the following and why?
WET/DRY FILTER
FUGE TANK i plan on a sump tank but why fuge also what does the fuge really help all that much??? wont the in sump protien skimmer do all the work?

You have to have more filtration then just the skimmer wether that be the wet/dry, fuge, canister, HOb or whatever.
The fuge helps by adding more water volume to the tank, allowing it to be more stable and also the algae you grow in the fuge helps you to remove nitrates and phospho from the water, making the water quality much better. What you might think about doing is if your sump tank is big enough when you do the glass baffles you can separate part to make it into a fuge.

YES i know about sump/fuge tanks got the plans and everything but wont the protien skimmer take out all the nitrates and phos. ??? just wondering why i need to make my extra tank a sump/fuge and not just a sump???

Protein skimmers do not remove phosphates and nitrates as well as a refugium, they do help, but the algae scrubber part of a refugium is one of the best methods of nitrate and phosphate removal out there.
