the shrimp for the ammonia cycle, does the shell need to come off

debnflo New Member Jun 11, 2004 #5 We tossed our shrimp in whole by the time DH removed it, it was basically a shell anyway and the tank was well on it's way to cycling. (After about 2 weeks.)
