I am keeping the lights on my refugium on 24/7 but i am wondering if the pods ever need the lights off so they can rest/sleep? any thoughts??

Option720,
The will rest like most other creatures, but I do not think that the lighting will prevent it. There are many who keep there refugium lights on 24/7 and they still do well.

FWIW
Although many light their refugiums 24/7, there are equally as many who employ the "reverse lighting" system. That is, the refugium is lit opposite of the display tank. When the display lights are on--refugium off. And vice-versa. This is much more natural IMHO. The thinking behind the 24/7 lighting is that it will keep the calurpa growing in the refugium from going asexual.
