Do smooth or hairy mushrooms reproduce quicker?

So, I got 5 teal/purple smooth mushrooms and 2 different hairy mushrooms today for free (not sure if thats the correct names for them, but im sure u get what im talking about). The guy I got them from had them literally infesting his tank, mainly the smooth ones.
I REALLY dont want this happening to my tank cause it looked aweful. He also said he haddent done a waterchange in almost a year o_O!?! Do they reproduce quicker in bad water? Should I place them all in a small area so they will colonize? Which reproduce faster smooth or hairy?
I currently have 16 mushrooms (of 6 different varieties & sizes). Will I regret this in the future? 7 of the mushrooms were given to me and the others came with my LR. The new ones are on rubble, so I can remove them if need be.
I really like mushrooms, but god I dont want an infestation like his tank!

Yes reproduction of the order Corallimorpharia can and do reproduce at a sometimes alarming rate and can easily take over an aquarium. You can view this as bad or if you use them to trade or sell good. Reproduction is accomplished bot sexually and asexually.

There's some damned funny iunnuendo to that title... ;)
Anyway - they can spread fast under the right conditions, but you can always either cut them back or just border them with stinging corals, if you're set up appropriately (I always used torch or hammer corals etc)

Even if you wanted to trade, it would have to be local T_T
Not going to risk shipping anything in the summer... specially in Miami, FL.

It was more of a joke lol, I actually got rid of some of my mushrooms to my lfs.i just decided 16 to start a brand new tank with was just way too many for me. I got rid of all but one smooth mushroom and kept my hairys. One of the hairys is really pretty, its rainbow colored ) it has green, red, and blue... Well ok, so I guess its not rainbow lol but it looks like it at first glance :)

LOL...Let me work on that for you Flower.....I need to figure out how to lift them off w/o hurting them. I did add a small piece to the SH tank, BUT don;t want to ship a small piece....anyway it is WAY TOO HOT right now
LOL...Kilofey...maybe it was wishful thinking then on my part.
Yes, I know what you mean, it's way too hot.....I ordered another Lemonpeel to replace the one that died, but I doubt SWF can ship it anytime soon...we have a heat wave here too...97 and it's supposed to last at least a week. The power went off again for an hour today....I don't have words for what went through my mind at that moment...Quiet unspoken panic about sums it up. It has just been restored after being off 4 days. My mother and I just sat there looking at each other and waiting with baited breath until it came back on.

Eeepppp, you share? I pay? My "reef" is still in its infantcy... Looks kinda lame at the moment lol but when my hairys split and kenya trees grow up and gsp multiply and leather gest bigger, hopefully it will look more interesting. Yellow polyps would be super cool and even the leather, maybe its different than my current one. hopeing to get a little variety in the tank. Btw, is there any non photosynthetic softies that are fairly easy?

EASY???? IMO no, all the soft darkies like super water flow and lots of food, which pollutes the tank and they die if the tank is polluted. If you have a great skimmer, and do almost daily water changes or vodka dose...they can make it. They are the prettiest of all coral. Since I have the denitrater (aquaripure) on the 90g and the MH lighting is on it's last leg......I just might try my hand at such a reef tank..
