The other night when I went to feed my fish, I saw what looked like a snail out of its shell on skimmer I went to get my camera when I got back it was gone. I have Nassarius snail in my tank, do they leave there shells?

Not if they can help it. They are loosly attached to the shell but if they are pulled free they cannot get back in. Although they can live without the shell they are usually quickly eaten.

looks like the stomatella, I've had my tank for about 5 months now and that was the first I've seen him and I haven't seen him since
