if something has a mouth with teeth it could bite jk. ;) Yes they do, they eat little fish, smalle shrimp. They may eat cleaner shrimp or they may remember it as a cleaner.

Hi:
you mean do they bite you? they shouldn't , they are more interested in food.
As far as food remember in the wild these fish eat crabs, shrimp, and inverts. I would feed a varied diet of shrimp w/ shell on, chunks of crab(like cut a blue crab into 4 chunks and feed), squid, silversides, etc.
Often times they have to been weened onto the foods above, but they will learn to eat it if they are young. You prolly will have to stick feed them to bump the food into their face before they will eat it.
If they are small they shouldn't eat a cleaner shrimp
Have you read up on these fish?

I got bitten by a 2 1/2 foot one when I was rearranging the tank a bit. The eel either didn't like it or thought food was there. It feels like a car door slamming on your finger. Happens fast and hurts for quite a while afterwards.

My snowflake is either very dumb or a very picky eater..my freezer is full of tiger shrimp, krill, squid, yet she will only eat silversides..and although I was warned against having any hermits or my blue star by my lfs. my sfe has never bothered anyone and she is at least 15"..good luck!Sorry for rambling..but I've been told that yes they will eat ANY shrimp and I believe it because I once watched my eel chase the rear end of my puffer to get the shrimp it was "eliminating" Sorry to be so graphic, but it was pretty bad! :p

My eel is about 10" and the only thing i can get
him to eat. And call me crazy, but i feed mine by
hand i always have and we seem to understand
one another,he takes it as nice as my dog does
with her treats. Not praging i just thing that
it's KOOL.
Sorry i got ahead of myself he eats
silversides..
