Do Sohal Tangs scratch for fun?

Hi! I have a sohal tang that is forever scratching himself in the sand since I put him in the main 150gl tank after 3 weeks qt. He has no spots, swims non-stop, and eats everything that will fit in his mouth. He is doing it for 6 weeks, is it for fun?

My sohal and hippo occassionally scratch on the sand while showing no other signs of disease. I wouldn't worry about it unless he does it constantly.
