do sponges require light? help plz

i have many sponges on my LR do they require light?

No they do not. Its actually suggested to keep them in very little to no light areas to avoid them getting algae on them which screws up their growth.

Some purple sponges need moderate light, and has your live rock been exposed to air, because if it has, they will probably die anyway.

yeah thats what i thought, this guy at fishy buissness in orlando said they require light. thanks tho
