I wanted to know if starfish disolve really fast after dying.
It wasn't a serpent star or a chocolate chip but it looked like one.
Last I saw it on top of a rock, the next morning it dissapeared, I looked everywhere in the tank, moving all the rocks, to find some gooey slimey thing on top of the rock it was last seen on.
So let me know and help me out, anyone out there.
I will delete this thread after I get help.
Of if you all think that it is usefull I will leave it for others like me.
THANKS IN ADVANCE
GOD BLESS

My conclusion is that my Starfish disolved, because I did not find it anywhere and it is not in my tank, and I did find some slimy thing on top of the rock it was last seen on.
It isn't any surprise to me that it died, because when I got it like that, it looked like it was dying, it didn't move at all and it was in its solid position with out moving, but I looked at the tenticle type things it has under its arms and some moved just a little.
Now to a prior experience, my friend has a couple serpent stars in the past, told me if they die and are left in the water that they disolve, if they are taking out of the water, they stay in the same shape and stay solid like a rock.
But my starfish didn't have skinny arms like a serpent star, instead it was bigger and very similiar to a chocolate chip starfish.
So here I ask and tell you, MOST STARFISH DISSOLVE WHEN THEY DIE AND ARE LEFT IN WATER?@!
