Do yall run your refugiums 24 hours a day?

Don't have a fuge, but rather a sump tank, and pump runs 24/7. As far as lights, depends on what you have in the fuge....fish, inverts, corals, lr, what?

I was just wondering what everyone's input is on the amount of time to run lights in the fuge.
IMO run your fuge light when your DT lights turn off and then off when your DT comes on. as long as it dosent light up your tank

It's realy not going to make a difference in your pH unless your fuge is at or near the same volume as your display tank. You will benifit from it in other ways though so run your lights as long as you like. If you do have a large fuge I do suggets the alternate 12 hour lighting cycle.

How does this work? Does the sump pH counteract the DT pH and so forth?
Yes.
Plants (during photosynthesis) absorb CO2 and exhale O2. At night, however they draw in O2. This can leade to your pH falling. Running a fuge full of plants on opposite lighting gives you in influx of O2 at night keeping your pH up.
I disagree with the above poster. While your display typically has a lot more water, your refugium typically has a lot more photosynthetic plants. So it can be a significant aid.

Well said, you would not be the first to do so.
