Well, I am FINALLY setting up my 125 but decided against a sump since room is limited and it will be a FOWLR with more aggressive fish. I am only going to have probably 4 fish in it so this is what I got yesterday. For the overhangs, I purchased 2 Aquaclear 70 filter systems, and also got a Fluval 305 Canister filter. I know that the canisters can be kind of a pain but I dont really mind the maintenance of cleaning it. I will be buying a protein skimmer and 2 powerheads after the water cycles and before I add fish. Just would like to know others thoughts.
Thanks so much and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Thats what I used to do on my 55 gallon. Just a protein skimmer, two powerheads, and a hang on back filter, and ofcourse like 50 pounds of live rock. It worked fine for me for years so I definitely think it will work. Just keep filters clean and do water changes regularly if your having larger fish especially.

With the right protien skimmer, and a good canister you you will be fine. You may need three power heads and I recommend live sand as well as your rock.
