Do you clean your tank when company is coming over?
Everytime I am having guests over, I always make sure the tank is spotless. I clean the glass, inside and out. I remove any and all hair algae, clean the powerheads, etc.
Anyone else this neurotic?

My tank isn't old enough to be really dirty but I do clean the outside front glass and use my magnet on the front inside. :D

My tanks are my pride and joy so anyone coming to visit is almost obliged to stand before the tanks and view any new livestock that I have aquired since their last visit, so I clean the glass and anything else that might need it before they arrive.

I try to keep my tank cleaned often. I do admit to extra special attention to make sure its beauty shines when company is coming.

Since I have "company" over only a few times a year - Holidays, summer stuff, etc.. I not only clean my tank, I purchase some neat things for it. A new fish, feather duster, coral, whatever...

If I were to do that. I wouldn't be able to put anything into it after a week.
There wouldn't be any room for the water
But yes I do put a little more time when I have some special guests coming over. But since I have so many guests coming constantly my tank stay pretty clean.

how do y'all clean the tank? Do you just pick it off with your hands? Because I wouldn't want to harm the animals with chemicals that are on people's hands. (I haven't set the tank up yet, researching now) So do you buy special things to clean it, I plan on buying inverts to clean the tank, do they do a good job? Any other advice on keeping it clean? is it different than freshwater as far as cleaning goes? ~*i had a freshwater tank, and it kept clean all the time on it's own, so i didn't have to clean for company, my algea eater fish did it for me*~:cheer: thanks a bunch, love ya!
