Not with puffers and triggers... unless you want your stingray to die a slow, painful death where it loses body parts one at a time.

you can do a cortez or a round stingray, but i highly recommend getting a bigger tank in the near future. do not buy this animal if you do not intend on purchasing a bigger tank.
realeasing an overgrown sw fish/shark/ray into the ocean only causes larger problems for their ecosystem and for yourself of you are cought. a specimen exposed to species (or itself) from other regions may carry parasites, desieses, or pathogenes that are not native to the area and could cause catostrophic consiquences. even in the best case scenario, releasing a species into the ocean where it does not naturally occur it could disrupt the balance of the region.
owning one of these species is a great responsibility, don't buy one if you cannot handle it. if you cannot provide enouph space for a adult species, do not buy a juvi.

Horrible advice.... suggesting that this person can do any ray in a tank with triggers and puffers is ludicrous. Didn't you say you've had some experience with these animals????

No problem... just notice that the original poster posted this 3 months ago. The most recent reply (before mine) was a question about keeping the ray with triggers and puffers. Reading the whole thread helps because your post was in just after this question.

well to acctually answer the up to date question.haha.
NO. take the puffers and the triggers out, a long with adding 3-4'' deep of fine grade sand (if you dont already have this). take out any rockwork, i do not suggest placing anything else in the tank of this size with the stingray. only stingrays i would suggest for a 220 long term would be...
-cortez round
-yellow stingray
-california round
..thats about it that i could think of that are readily availible and are decent beginner rays.
