Do You Miss Your Tank When at Work?

Does anyone else do this? While I'm at work, I find myself thinking about my reef tank - missing it, is more like it.
No wonder my wife feels neglected sometimes! (At least it's not another woman...)

I'm w/ Baron. I sit at work check this page from time to time and use pictures of other people's tank as a screen saver. Man this makes me sound like a out of control junkie.

I miss mine when I go to the kitchen to get something to drink.Work is something I do to afford the critters.

Yeah the webcam is a good idea, except....what happens if you are watching it online at work and you see another fish beating up on one of your favorite fishs or a hermit tearing apart one of your corals! What are you going to do? I could just see someone in their little cubicle at work stand up and start yelling at their monitor,"NO SALLY! Don't do that!!" Then you grab your keys and jet out the door to rush home! Everyone would think you were crazy!

yep, i can never get away from my tanks, ohh thats right i work at an lfs, a job full of tanks, and my baby a 150 reef with 280lbs. lr and over 1500 in corals, damn now thats a job

I'm do the exact same thing as Maui does... I have that webshots desktop screensaver at work and I have tons of pictures of other people's tanks! I'm am truly obsessed with reefing...
I sit around at work and daydream about what I'm going to go broke on next for my tank...

I too am trully sick. since I started this thing Three weeks ago I've only been to work 2 days and I spent one of those trying to access my web cam from work. couldn't do it. so I took a weeks vacation to try and find out why. And I dont even have fish yet. this is still setup.

Hello!!!! Let's get a grip. Our tanks are great and we all have a rather passionate feeling about them but this is a bit over board. Let's keep our priorities straight. We s/b thinking of our family and friends not our tanks!! And it wouldn't hurt to also think about work when actually at work! There's a thought! It's great to have passion but this is a bit too much!!

what's up with that? if you were thinking of your family and friends, why are you on this board answering replies? what if i don't have any friends, except for my fish?

Firstly, I'm not at work and am answering outside of work. I must admit that I have and will continue to answer questions at work also. I do have passion for the hobby but I do believe that thinking about family, friends and yes work most of the time while at work would be a pretty good idea.

simple answer YES! heck i even check it at school on breaks. unfortunatly my current work doesnot allow internet access. also as I am a certified networker and am working on my degree in information tech, i feel it important to remind you that they can watch everything you do on your computer at work. just make sure youre not violating thier acceptable use polocies. it would be a shame to get fired over a hobbie
