Well, I dont talk to my fish, but my mom goes up to the tank and talks to the fish, she even has the name "bubbles" for my yellow tang(like in the movie finding nemo). Do any of you talk to your fish.

I tell my Maroon Clown to leave the percula's alone - he doesn't listen.
I also tell my 3 mean, territorial damsels (yellow tail, stripped, and talbot's) to live in harmony and share the space, but nope, they don't listen either!
I tell my ($5.00) damsels do what they want, but leave my ($28.00) orange spotted goby alone or else. So far so good.

well the foxface and I were in a debate the other day, we have come up with two options in making harmony in my tank, 1.) the false perc needs something to do, he really bothers the fox when he is trying to relax in his little cave, the false perc is always trying to play with him when he is chilling, 2.) it is quite stupid to talk to fish who cannot talk back, yet we or I feel compelled to do so on a regular basis.

I often talk to my fish.. Every day when I get home from work I burst into my room with a "HELLO FISHIES!". Then they all run up and down the front of the tank looking for food. Then if something has been moved while I was gone I ask them who did it.. they dont answer.. I think its probably outta fear that i'll trade them off for a coral.

I talk to all my fish and they all have names. In fact, one of my Oscars, "Clyde" has learned to mimic our mouth movement when we say hello and he sais hello back.
Yes, the more you talk to your fish, the more they respond.
Our dog face puffer defenitely talks to us, responds in joy to our voice by fluttering his pectoral fins and he talks to us to let us know what he wants. Communication is clear and obvious.
I think fish are smater than people realize and the more you talk to them, the more they learn.

I fuss at my fish. "Get outa there", "Leave him alone!" Etc etc...
Isn't any worse than talking to infants. They can't understand you yet either and they won't be talking back for a while so I think talking to fish is a natural normal part of having them as pets.
See, now this is extreme huh? I'll only tell you guys, no family or friends.

Talking no.. cooing yes..
My clowns are like little babies they follow me from one side of the tank to the other. If I blow on the water they come up and kinda flap their fins like they are getting "fanned". Too funny. Haven;t spoken a word to the blenny yet, he just looks like an old man with attitude,
