Do you think this sand is live?

Getting Sand tomorrow for the new tank..these are some of the choices at my LFS

the only thing good about those "sand in a bag is the amount of bacteria used (same stuff you can buy in a bottle) this will of course start a cycle in the tank....if the sand needs to be rinsed it's not live as doing so will kill anything on it ...It's cheaper to buy dead sand and a bottle of cycle start or similar product. or a raw shrimp and time.
I think in my opinion its a joke "live sand in a bag with a 6month shelf life?" what bacteria can you think of that will last 6 months of the worst conditions and still be live? beneficial anyway...

kelly and pfitz you're wrong.. neither is alive
... just like coach said.... it's just some bacteria... there is no amphipods or copepods or bristle worms...etc in that sand it is a complete joke and not true... just some possible bacteria.

last time i checked.... bacteria is alive, making it "Live sand"
They never asked if it contained pods or other hitchhikers.
