Do your Clowns swim throught your LR??

I added 2 clowns, i'm not sure if they are occelaris or true P's, im assuming occelaris, but not sure. One is considerably larger than the other. These are my very 1st fish, they are in a 46 gal w/ 45 lbs LR.
i was wondering if clowns tend to "use" the LR. Mine just seem to swim around it and it's actually kinda disapointing. I was looking forward to seeing them swim through the nooks and crannies and what not. You think they will use the rock?

Mine normally don't swim in & out of the rocks. One does sit in a hole every once in awhile .

my maroon clownfish likes sitting in his one area of the tank usually behind my fake coral just stays there looking at stuff and then sometimes in the morning he'd just swim around the back of the tank behind the LR....and he comes up to surface to eat from my hand every afternoon

When I get near the tank mine swims close to me and stays in my face like a little puppy wanting attention. She also eats from my hand. They usually don't go in rock unless they are really frightened.
For one of your later fish get a royal gramma, sixline wrasse or gobie. They go in and out alot. Also my coral beauty is the best at weaving in and out of the rock work and picking at them. I would wait til last fish and at least 6 months before an angel though.

My clownfish dont swim in and out of my live rock neither i dont know why.They always seem to like the one corner of the tank but they do swim around all day but they do now where to get feed ate at all times.

Mine just hang out in the corner wished they would swim around only move for food. If you want a nice fish that will swim in and threw yoour rocks, take a look at the six line wrasse. Perfix size for your tank and reef safe, loves hunting threw LR for food.

Like posted earlier, they not big on going in and out of rock, they pick a spot, and pretty much stay there, or in that area. But I also have a sixline and a coral beauty and all they do is swim in and around the rock, not really open swimers. Just have to find a good balance of fish.

My True P. has been in the tank only one week. He went into the tank, found a small corner in the front of the tank and for the most part just stays there.
A couple of times he has checked out the rest of the tank, but hasn't gone through the rock. Sometimes he comes to the top of the tank when we feed him.
Once a passing Mexican Turbo sort of pushed him out of his corner, but he went right back to it when the snail moved on.

My clowns totally avoid the rocks. My royal gramma loves to swim in and out of the rocks.

Clowns do not like rockwork. ht eprefer to be in the open water in visible site. Mine have never even taken refuge between rocks. They rather swim to th etop when scared or head to a corner.

My royal gramma lovs getting into all kinds of holes. I sometimes worry it's going to get lost inside the rock. My Watchman goby plasters himself in rocks that sometimes I feed the tank off cycle just to make sure he still around.
My tangs love the rockwork too.

Yeah, my clowns just kinda hang in mostly one part of the tank and don't swim in and out of the LR. The yellow damsels, though, they love the LR for all its nooks and crannies.

They are territorial. IMO they are cute but boring fish without an anemone.

Sometimes mine will swim between the rock. Tried to swim thru the rock once and it nearly knocked him out.

Mine seems to swim as fast as he can across the tank all the time, like he's doing laps or somewthing. He goes through the rock work all the time, but maybe that's because they are large overhangs? But he will rest at night right above one of my powerheads. Gues it depends on each fish.

my 2 are hosting my yellow cup coral, of all the soft coral in the tank they pick the stony, but they will only leave it to eat, and attack me when I get to close the their coral while cleaning the tank.

if u want them to swim through rocks youll need a blenny or angel, maybe a wrasse. fish that are known to use lr
