I must have a dud of an eel then, i've had mine for over 3 years and he's only grown 2 inches, he's about 14 inches now. the only thing he's eaten since i've had him are pepermint shrimps.

Are you SURE that its the same species? What I assume saltwaterfish.com's banana eel is, is this:
http://fishbase.sinica.edu.tw/summar...ry.php?id=1103
Which is labelled at a quoted max size of 27" in length. Now there is also the dwarf golden eel, not shown at saltwaterfish.com found here:
http://fishbase.sinica.edu.tw/summar...ry.php?id=7284
Which has a quoted max size of 11". It is really hard to say because this website does not quote latin names for the fish it sells.

Sorry I stated it incorrectly. I didn't mean to say and. I would only put one of those in there.
What about a chain link eel. Talking to my l.f.s (that I trust) he said that was another option. He did agree that s.f.e. was a solid choice.

hmm chainlink as in echidna catenata or chainlink as in gymnothorax favagineus? ive heard both the common names but chainlinks r very diferent. i would say its possible, if a sfe is possible im guessing a chainlink might work. im suprised AW hasnt posted here

I fed my snowflake once a week for 3 years. Grew from 6" to 18" then I sold it. I think its pretty hard to underfeed an eel.

I've had both a SFE and a zebra eel for about a year....the SFE died a few months ago but the Zebra is doing well.... about 28" long....it is the most docile creature in the tank. It has absolutely no interest in other fish or snails.....the SFE was quite a bit more aggressive than the Zebra but not terrible.....

Not sure really....one day I came home and it was dead....I examined it closely and it had a very small hole in its side, about 6" down its body....the size of the hole was about the thickness of a sharpened pencil lead.....
Agree, most SFE's are pretty hardy....I think groupers would also survive a nuclear war too

You forgot Twinkies (I think they have a shelf life of 8 years

So if you're talking about zebras being docile. How would they go with a corris wrasse, two maroon clowns, a dwarf lion, and a niger trigger? Those would be in a 110g that's 72 x 19 x 19.
Oh by the way is the zebra ok to put with coral?
