Definitely isn't requred and it is probably better to stay away from the Anemone's anyway. They have a very, very, very low success rate in the hobby and even the most advanced aquariast often lose them for unknown reasons.
Also......Condylactus Anemones are kind of like Junk Yards in the Clownfish world......some will take to them, but most just stay away.

I have a skunk clown that took to a mini-Koosh ball I threw in the tank. He doesn't quite snuggle in it like he would an anemone, but seems to enjoy zipping through it.
He was in my reef with another skunk, but never took to the anemone, and kept wanting to host in my flowerpot coral (which is no good!).
Anyway, something to try maybe! I tried it with a false perc. I had, and it didn't work.
