Pros: It's cheaper than many things you can buy to put in your tank
Cons: A cycle is a process where the bacteria in your tank balances out to handle your bioload. You can't rush that.

It is one of the cheapest, and likely least effective, of a line of relatively ineffective products.
It is money better spent on LR, which really, truly, has live bacteria. Stuff in a bottle on the shelf (or in the fridge)? Not the best way to spend money.
I agree, a cycle takes time. There is no rushing things in this hobby, IMO.

I use cycle whenever I get a new fish to put in the QT. I don't use it to try to cycle the tank but for the fish. It helps make the fish acclimate a bit easier.

My husband loves this stuff and uses it with our freshwater and saltwater tanks. Not to cycle the tanks because our saltwater tanks had the live rock, sand and chromis to do that, but to just give it a boost. I am not sure that it is necessary, but I did not object when he did it. I recently saw an add for premixed saltwater and live sand that you put in your tank and it is instantly ready for fish...hmmm.

LOL, I've said the same thing. However, after observing them in the wild I've come to understand their behavior and see that it is very beneficial to the Reefs where they live.
As aquarists we're the dummies that put them in our tanks...

IMO, NEVER assume that you will not cycle. It is always better to test the tank and be safe, then invest in fish and lose them.
