There was a SW fish magazine that came out a while back ( not sure of the name, sorry) that was discussing reef safe triggers. You coulg do a Google search for the magazine for that particular issue, may be able to help.....

I've heard mixed things about triggers in reefs. Blue Jaws are supposed to be reef safe and Nigers are up to chance. The thing though is most people with reefs have crabs, snails, shrimp, etc. And these triggers will eat them. So they may be reef safe, but not invertabre safe.

I have a niger in mine for well over a year with no issues, also two shrimp.
Nigers are my favorite. The blue jaws are pretty and all, but for some reason I have allways liked the look of the nigers. It'll be a while, but I'll try one someday soon.

I have shrimp and corals and would love to get a Blue Jaw, but I am very wary. I don't want to wake up to a devastated tank.

GrouperGenius, I would recommend the Sargassum, I have one and they are wonderful fish, also they are pelagic (open ocean fish), they don't live on the reef, thus don't require food that lives on the reef, at least thats how I think of it.

Had mine 2 weeks, already my favorite fish.

Well, I broke down and got a Sargassum today. What a good looking and personable fish so far. I'll post a pic when I get a chance.

lets see some pics :)
Just got my camera back today from Canon. I'll get pics next week.
The trigger would charge at my fingers whever feeding and kinda spooked me a little. Now I get my hands in the tank and do stuff with no worries. He just wanted to check me out. I can even hold and pet him and he's not afraid.
