Does anybody use backup power sources?

I just got ahold of a power cell for computers for free. It plugs into an outlet and your equipment plugs into it. Apparently it serves as reserve battery power if the power goes off. Anybody else use something like this on their reefs?

yes i also use UPS for pump power if the power goes out for a couple of mins

I have an apc hooked up to my filters and pumps. I have 2 hang on filters and when the power shuts off for a brief time they get kinda hard to start back.

Funny I asked the same thing a little while back,I hooked up 2 APC UPS units, just make sure they can handle what you use them for, I have 1000 watt units, they will run my pump for about 2 1/2 hours to 3, the other will back up the denitrator and the nite lights, for the lighting a generator is the only way to go,

I have an old APC 3000 that powers the powerheads and pump. It kept the system going for 4.75 hours when my lights were out for 5 hours.
If I didn't get the old system from work, I don't know how I supply that much power.
