Does anyone else have the falling rock problem?

When you go to clean your glass with the mag float, or whatever, and you bump one LR then another across the way falls, then you pick up the fallen rock and try and put it back but the other rocks are now too far apart, so you set that one aside and bring the others closer but wait, they're not in the same spot as before because the top rock just doesn't fit right so you spend time adjusting that and then you finally get to the point where you're going to put the original piece that fell back up but can't remember how it went because all of the bumps and crevices look the same. Not to mention the poor fish and critters are running around all freaked out and you're freaked out because you're wondering if you've smashed someone or made it to where they can't move. Anyone else have this frustration? :notsure:
To top that off, while sucking out some old water for a water change my son got his play broom and started stirring the new batch of salt water. Thus I had to dump that and start over. And it's not even Monday!

Yea, I have that same problem, and I don't even have that much rock in my tank.....I finally got it so the mag float doesn't bump anything, so that helps. I hate it when I get it just right, cave and swim thrus... and just can't reproduce it again. On the other hand sometimes I do it better next time...

Whew...so it's not just me. I agree that sometimes it looks better after but I think what's happening is that my pistol shrimp keeps digging and it causes the rocks to move and such. So, where the mag was clear before it's not cleared now.

Ant I have the same problem and I dont even have any fish. Way frustrating. But I have nothing to blame it on other then myself. And the water, my dog started to licking it and that made me so mad.

Yea, my banded sleeper gobie digs under my rocks too. He digs under all of them and the whole thing has shifted and sunken. It's so funny to watch him though. He will dissapper under the rocks then come out and spray sand out of his mouth until he has a big pile. I swear he must have a complete "caveren" in the sand under the live rock setup. hehe

One way to stabilize the sctructure is to place the bottom rocks on the glass of the tank, not on the sand. This way nobody can dig under the rocks! So, as you rearrange your rocks again kind of clear the sand from under them as much as you can. As far as the upper part of the sctructures...so far I've been lucky, but who knows what will happen later. Sometimes I feel like it's not that steady. You can try to reinforce it with crazy glue gel, perhaps? Not too much so that you can pull them apart later if you need to, but perhaps put some glue on a stick and quickly smudge it on the seams between some of the rocks in the water... This might help.
