I 'technically' dont have a fuge because my fuge is a stand-alone (not directly connected by waterflow to the DT).
I just swap bundles of cheato in and out of the fuge and DT for the pods. (IMO the less pumps the better, Floridas hurricanes and power outages= higher possibility of overflows! So Im trying to lessen my chances.)
To take care of extra trates and such, you can get some plants in the DT and they will at least help. I have blade and grape caulerpa in the DT and it keeps algae and trates in check. Looks kinda cool too.
You can do a soapdish fuge too
