Does anyone have this type of protein skimmer?

Does anyone have the Reef Devil Deluxe skimmer? What do you guys and gal think of them? I just order one today, and upgrade the pump from Catalina 2200, to the Magdrive. 7. Looking for any input..... Thanks

i dont have that brand nor have I seen that style of skimmer from that co. But it is a verry reputibal company. I seriosly doubt you made a bad choice. do you mind if I ask how much you paid for that

i havent seen that skimmer either but i have a question bout it.
1. how much was it..
and 2. the white part on the bottom with the valve on it, is that where water will go back into the sump through that after it has been skimmed??

Yes its a down draft. But i can't really tell you how it's going to work. This will be my first saltwater tank. I have never delt with any of this. I can tell you when i get it. sorry i don't know much.

It works both ways in or out.

yep. but a skimmer that has a valve like that can nut run as a hang on like all the ss can

i dont want it to hang on, i want to put the pump in my sump and then run another tube on that valve and run it back into the tank... do you think that would work?

i want to run a skimmer out side the sump, but have the pump in the sump. my sump is not drilled and i dont have alot of room in the stand. so if i put the pump inside the sump, and the water will go into the skimmer then through the white valve and i can run some flex tube to the wet dry...
