That depends alot on what kink of fish you want, what kind of filtration you have, whether it's going to be a reef or fish only and other things to. Their is no simple answer.

usually the general rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish per gallon to be safe. I have used this rule and pushed it a little bit but it is good. Remember everyone wants lots of fish but dont overcrowd it too much or they will die

I could be wrong :notsure: , But I heard 1" per 3gallons, and make sure you are counting the adult size of the fish, not the size when you get it. That would be around 70 inches of fish. :happyfish

This rule is wrong, and is ridiculously overcrowded. Come on, can you imagine 9 fully grown panther groupers in a 210? That would be ludicrous and insane. Inch per gallon rules do not work because they do not take into account waste load of fish, how much the fish eats, and how large the fish is.
50 inches of grouper is SIGNIFICANTLY different than 50 inches of gobies. You could have 50 neon gobies in a 210 and not really have to do more than monthly water changes. However, if you had just 2 panther groupers, you will be doing large weekly to bi-weekly water changes.
In all honesty, there is no way to tell how many fish you can put in a tank. It all depends on the fish you choose, amount of filtration, amount of live rock, how large your skimmer is, how much flow you have, and so many other things.

The best idea would be to come up with a list of fish you want to keep and we can help you work the detals down from there.

whoa! LoL Well I guess I'll just be careful and stuff. My lfs has been very helpful and tells me when I shouldnt get certain things so I'm sure he'll tell me what I can and cannot have. I'm sure he'll give me the correct amount of live rock. You can never have too much. I have 80 pounds in my 55 reef. I just wanted to know "about" how many fish I could get. I wanted to get like a puffer and maybe some triggers and the rest little stuff. Just wanted some opinions. I'm real excited about it. Now...I'll be getting the HUGE wet dry filter with the balls in it and have heard I'll have to clean the balls. How in the WORLD am I going to do that? I'm sur eonce my tank is cycled, I'll be asking LOTS of questions. I am so thankful for this site!!!!!

I would make sure you consult on here before making any major purchasing descisions at the LFS...most of the time they tell u things that arent true and end up overstocking you tank until it crashes and then u wasted lots of $$$. So just make sure u let us know what fish your putting in before u buy them. We dont want u to have a disaster.

Well, do not take everything your LFS tells you as solid fact. Local fish stores are in the business to make money. I am not saying that everything they tell you is a lie. They may tell you 90% factual information. However, that last 10% is stuff they tell you that is not exactly the truth.
For instance, you are your LFS guy are walking down the aisle and you say to him, "What do I need for filtration?" He is standing there and he could help you out and tell you that making a sump out of a 30 or 55 gallon fish tank would be very cheap and easy for you. However, instead, he sells you a really big and expensive wet/dry that you have to clean all of the time because that makes the store more money. He did not lie to you, a wet/dry filter is perfectly adequate, but he did not help you either.
As far as live rock, I would recommend at least 200 lbs. In my 210, I have 275 lbs.
Ask TONS of questions on here! We are only here to help!! And always remember, the only stupid question is the one that is not asked! :happyfish

I will post some pictures for you this weekend. I need to shoot some new ones.
I have an orbicularis batfish, a maculosis angel, a kole tang and vlamingi tang, a big eye squirrelfish, two fuzzy dwarf lionfish (soon to be 3, hopefully), a very large engineer goby, and a maroon clown.
That tank is my FOWLR and my 20 is my reef. The 20 is being converted into a 75 in the next few weeks though.
Both the 20 and the 210 are interconnected, and when I get the 75 going, it will be the 75 and 210 interconnected.

No, unfortunately, you will not be able to do the batfish. My batfish will eventually outgrow my tank. I have already made plans for Adventure Aquarium in Camden to adopt the fish for their aquarium if my larger tank is not built yet. When I get a bigger house, I plan to have a several hundred gallon aquarium built into the wall.
You will be able to do some lionfish, though.

Yep, you can definitely get a nice lionfish for the tank. Being that you want bigger fish, a gorgeous volitan will go very well in that tank.
