I have CC (yeah I know now its, horrible) and I can't get a sifter or anything because the peices are too big. Does anything else actually eat diatoms, like a snail or something?

I had two of the large turbos, but they kicked the bucket after about a month. Now that you mention it, I didn't really have diatoms until they were gone. xD What are some easier snails to keep, since I heard (and expeareanced) that the mexican turbos don't live long?

The big Mexican Turbos prefer cooler water. Maybe try Astreas if you have them in your area.

Cerith and water changes. I may be biased but I LOVE cerith snails lol.
Some good diatom cleaners that I recommend are nassarius, cerith, and astrea snails. However, there are several organisms that consume diatoms, so choose the ones that are best for you.

I put a few fighting conchs in my tank and they do a real nice job of keeping it clean.

Haha I'm afraif of fighting conchs. Don't they kill other inverts?
And yeah, I'll pick up a few astreas and ceriths next time I'm at the LFS. How many of each for a 29 gal?
