Does nitrates kill inverts-?

sharkbait, did you see the bioload, frequency of water changes, and the specific gravity (for the snails)? These are all the problems..

yup I agree this should not happen in a tank 1 year old. It needs a 20-25% water change and a filter rinse with the tank water from the water change once a month ph at 8.2 and salt levels at 23-25 ball park, I might even invest in a top off tank to help keep the system in check as loss water can raise the salt above world wide levels of 25. There is a device that you can buy for about $10 that is a timer and it will go off when you need to make changes to the tank or use a tank log as I have done with my tanks. Works real well.

Ok. Thank you. I also picked up an item called de*nitrate. My LFS told me it brings the levels down, so I will try it.

This could be a short lived fix to the real issue at hand. Be sure to use as directed as it can have a reverse effect is used to long or not changed out and cleaned.
