Does primafix help treat ich?

My clown has a mild case of ich.
I was wondering if I can treat the ich with primafix in my DT? Is primafix reef safe? I am going to use garlic in his food, to help his immune system. The reason I am asking, is because I am really reluctant to use medicine with copper on him. He is the only fish in the tank.

Pima fix is reef safe, however it does not treat ich. Pima fix treats fungal infections not parasites. Your best option is hyposalinity. You will need to remove your rock and inverts to a temporary tank while you do this. It may just be easier to put the clown in a qt and let your system run fishless for 6 weeks while all of the ich dies off in the tank.

Luck me..... ap piece of the garlic clove got into the tank and he loves it! What is defined as a bad case of ICH HE has maybe 15-20 or so dots on him. It looks like brook, and ich both. I can't tell tho. Will primafix treat brook?

No, pimafix will not treat any parasites. 15-20 dots is not very good. I would definitely set up a quarantine tank and treat the fish with hyposalinity for ich, and formalin baths if he has brooklynella.
Can you possibly post a picture?

Melaxfix: rapidly repairs damaged fins, heals open wounds and ulcers, stops mouth fungus, treats fin and tail rot.

Mela fix and pima fix does not do a thing but remove money from yur pocket. There is much better and faster products out there that work a lot better. Just a daily water change and dead on water parameters will do as much for a "cure" a pima or mela will do.................Mela Fix Rapidly repairs....oh come on cut me some slack..You believe everything thats on labels.........you sound like a company rep. I hear it cures brain cancer restores dead hair cells and cures ingrown toenails as well.

Woah, calm down for a second. I was not claiming it did any one of those things. It says that directly on the label. I was only going by what the company advertises as its purpose.

How should I go about doing a freshwater bath, its so hard to tell what it is, it may be nothing, cause over the course of three hours the spots changed into larger fainter blobs, and are slowly"disinegrating".:notsure:

Don't do a freshwater bath, it just stresses the fish out. Do you perhaps have a picture of the problem?

I agree, freshwater baths usually are more harmful than helpful. There are better ways to treat every problem.

K my moms camera wont take pics of it, it does have macro by the way. It could be my imagination. Im a bit stressed cause schools starting, and I had a tang with about every disease known to fish come into my tank. Thanks so much for the help. My fish seems very healthy otherwise, eating like a madman, swimming in his anemone. Hey I have another question if this is ich, when the ciliates drop, off the fish, will they be stung by the anemone he sleeps in?

Do you say this from experience? I used them both when a Niger Trigger got what appeared to be a fungal/bacterial problem and it cleared up in a few days. It might have been a coincience, but I think it worked for me.

I really don't know what my clown has, or if I am just overreacting. It doesnt look like ich anymore, it really looks like mold now, but not covering the whole fish, just spots, mainly around the middle stripe, and dorsal fin.

Does it look like brooklynella?
MyWay, I too have had great experience with MelaFix and PimaFix. They have alwways done the job for me, and I have never lost a fish while using them. All people's tanks are different though. I don't see any reason why GSD responded the way he did.
