does test kits expire?

i found a old test kit that i use to use about a year ago. i would say this thing has been on my shelf for probably about 2 maybe 3 years. do they go bad?
i know i probably should get a new one, however if they dont go bad..........thats money saved.

You'll need a new one soon anyways - why don't you go get a new one - compare the results using both kits - and you tell us what you find out.
Yes - they do go bad ;)

i am in columbus now. i am only about a hour away. whata a really good fish store in cincy? i heard about the place where you can walk thru the aqurium and see sharks and stuff. i will be coming to check it out soon

good LFS is jacks aquarium. But as far as the Newport aquarium goes, its awesome. Most of it is like one big tube. I wouldn't hesitate if I were you. The first time I went there I came home and said, I will have a SW tank. I give the place 2 thumbs up for saltwater as well as freshwater fish.

I'm from Indianapolis originally, then Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus, back to Dayton and now just south of Toledo out in Perrysburg Township.

we have a jacks here. i know the manager pretty well. he will do favors for me. like if a customer brings in a fish that is sick. he will take me to the back to see him. and give him to me dirt cheap. i got a imperor angel really large in size for 50 bucks. he was not doing well so i took him home and got his heath together. now i have a buyer for him. they are will to give 400 bucks. he told me he has another blue face in also for 50 bucks.
i like jacks. i was thinking more like a private dealer. you know those guys that run it out of there house and are really cheap on fish and will assure a healty fish.
well i am reall looking forward to seeing this place. i got a brochure. i may go in a few weeks

yeap high street...........the only place in the city where just about anything goes. speaking of the bucks..............
they just lost to i belive wisconsin yesterday. they are really starting to suck. at least we have the bluejackets :)

You know i went to a private dealer last weak in milford. The guy sells SWF and used computers. I know its rreally wierd. The place was hole the fish looked unhealthy and even worse unhappy. the coral looked pathetic. It was a mess. Kind of ironic its called something fishy, and there really is something fishy about it.

I also didnt realize that jack's was a chain that's cool. I do have a question though. Back home in Ravenna, Ohio there is an awesome LFS that sells healthy fish really cheap. Is it possible to transport a fish for 5 hours

i am sure you can. make sure you package it as if he was being shipped somewhere. i transported a tang once from cleveland once. and even stopped at the outlet malls. he did just fine. just make sure he is healthy when you get him. and make sure he is packaged right. just like if you where to order one from online. (which i have yet to do) however my friends do it. i think i will be tring it soon

I wont order online. I gotta see my product. Where from in Cleve. I couldnt imagine stopping to shop with a fish in my truck waiting to get home :)

I dont know much about other test kits but with mine there is a plastic beeker which you fill with SW. Than you take the packet that applies to what you are testing i.e. ammonia, nitrates, what have you. then you compare the colors. Each packet for each test is about a half an ounce if that is the case and they arent opened then will they expire
