Does this look too cluttered with rock? I want to take some out, but my LFS insist i should try to make it work. "More live rock the better" Thanks for opinions ahead of time

Should work now... its hard to tell from the pic, but the way I have it set up... their are tons of caves and tunnels through the rocks for fish to swim through. The pic kinda makes it look like a pile of rocks

I agree with the others...not too mush...just need to reaquascape it...and no....your fish should be okay...just try not to stir too much crap up

What would you suggest? Removing smaller pieces into a bucket and re-scaping the big ones and then putting them back in? It is a lot of rock so its hard to do all at once, and like I said, I don't want to stress the fish out. Do you recommend alot of cliffs and caves? or should I try to stack rocks for more swimming area?

I think this is being overlooked. It is YOUR tank. Create a design YOU like. Caves, piles or open swimming is all up to you. Opinions from us might be helpful and we do appreciate you asking. Just remember that is is what catches YOUR eye for what looks best.

+1 IMO I like it! Lots of places you can put corals later on.

theres no such thing as too much live rock.. it just depends on what your putting in there becuase there is such a thign as too little space for fish :)

Rock is a personal choice...if it doesn’t look good to you... Lots of rock is good, but fish need to swim too. Have a look at some of the tanks on the site and see if anyone has the rock set up in a way that appeals to you and copy it as best you can.
Don't keep something you don't like the looks of...you have to live with it, and if you try changing later it could be disastrous. So you need to have it set the way you like it.

So long as you guys think it looks good, I will keep it like this for now. I like it... and my 2 new clowns seem to love it. They swim through all the caves, its cool to watch. I just didn't want people to look at it and think it is too crowded with rock. My fiance thinks it is, however, my father likes it. I think I might remove a piece or two to give a little more swim space down the road. would 4 or 5 lbs. of rock make a major difference with my biological filter?
