I can just imagine what many here would say if someone asked them " what would you do if you won the lottery?"
If you would say to them " I'd get a huge saltwater tank with all the best high dollar techno-trimmings" ...... then you're addicted !

Actually I always figured once I started saying - well if we win I'd design our house to be built around multiple tanks ....

My Boss and I were just talking about the cali lotto being 20+mill, he said "man I would open my own Bar" First words out of my mouth were, "I could have a huge prop tank, 1000g refugium/lagoon, and a 250g display tank, not to mention a clownfish breeding set up". He called me a nerd.:D

I left for 6 months on a ship and mentioned to my wife what a shame it would be if she let everything die and I spent the thousands I saved to restock. I got back and the tank looked wonderful. Now she loves takeing care of it. She still does not get the whole talking about aquaria all the time though.

Sinner started the whole saltwater thing while I was with him. I've now taken over. he's more into cars. If I had money, i'd spend more on the tank. I tell him I want the same amount that he spends on the car for the tank...of course that never gets me anywhere.
ttran1999 ~can you tell that to sinner? I'd leave him alone about all the time he spends on the car boards and playing with the car if I had more fish stuff to play with or watch. (but I don't want a bigger ring)

Well, I'd do that after I put money aside to pay for school for both of us...nm, there wouldn't be any money left after that.

Yep, I know I am addicted. I am even going to risk life and limb. for my tank, when I set up my bug tank right next to my girlfriends holy grail (over excessive collection of shoes she doesnt wear.) If you dont hear from me in the near future. I will be dead and buryied in a cornfield making wonderfull fertilizer) My plan is to set it up when she isnt here. My only hope to survive will be...............chocolate and roses to camafloge the tank at it first apearance:p

i tried getting her into the hobby, but i guess i didn't make it! but is there really anything else to talk about?
i guess i am addicted
thanks rick

I took my wife to the coast aquariums and told her that she could bring a smaller peice of this to home. Every time we go to the coast she wants to stop and see the new exzibites (sp?) and see what she can create at home. Give it a try.

I have to say its so much more fun when your wife finds the hobby interesting. At first the wife just saw this big money pit that was taking all my attention. Now she sees this huge money pit that takes all my attention that has some pretty corals that are spreading.
Got to love the wife..................Cheers...........:D

ahh.. an at home scuba tank.... Now we are talking!!
I hear ya on this one. Never tried scuba before-but gimme a snorkel, flippers, goggles and my warter wings :D
My wife and I went to Cancun last year and went snorkeling for the first time, been hooked on SW ever since (going to set up my first SW tank shortly). Funny thing is I am really afraid of the ocean, had a really hard time going in the water at the first site to snorkel. But then........ I was the last in the boat. The second site I was first off the boat and last in. I even let the air out of my water wings so I could dive down and get a closer look. The fish were amazing. but then one of the guides found a octupus, I almost got down to the the rock It was hidin' under and I visioned this thing comin out and grabbin and lockin' on to my face  ........you should have seen this 6 ft 200lb guppy race to the surface...The guides then stirred up an eel  , it had to be 3000 ft long give or take 10ft....well it looked like it to me anyway. You all now have the pleasure of knowin' some that has attempted to RUN ON WATER!!!!!!!!:D :D
Been hooked ever since.:D

how many broken homes has this board been attributed to?:D
My girlfriend says i talk about my fish too much. I just love taking care of the little guys. I have my clown trained so i can hold a piece of flake food by the glass in ront of him and he will go to the top of the water and do his little clown thing!
